Lives Transformed - Simply
The mission of UCYC (United Christian Youth Camp) is to "pioneer fun, quality experiences in a safe outdoor setting where the gospel is presented in loving relationships." If that sounds idealistic - just wait until you visit. This staff LIVES IT. Every person we talked to is personally invested in transforming lives through the power of the love, patience, honesty, forgiveness, and joy Jesus has to offer. UCYC is FUN. We laughed so much in the week we were there. That true camp experience happened, and in just seven days we made unforgettable friends. UCYC is a thriving ministry because they know exactly what they are in it for - to give people a better life because of Jesus. They exemplify collaboration and the benefits of genuine evaluation. As they continue to grow, there will certainly be hurdles, but this camp staff will take them on with grace and determination (and probably a lot of coffee).

I think this is the way Jesus hopes we will seek him; that we would be hungry to learn and desire to imitate him. I think he hopes we will be like disciples. Think of the way their lives – and the world – were radically changed because twelve dudes were willing to go and do. I’m sure they weren’t all instantly psyched about it. I imagine at least a few of them said, “Listen Jesus, I’ve got some stuff going on. I have bills to pay, fish to catch – I’m sure you understand.” But Jesus still asked them to go, because there was work to be done and he had things to teach them.
