Encounter. Experience. Engage.
Forest Home is a GIANT in camping - say their name in a camping circle, and the reaction will be akin to namedropping Switchfoot. "Oh my gosh, Forest Home is AWESOME." After having been there and working alongside their staff for two weeks. we agree. Forest Home needs props simply for the level of coordination (and magic) it takes to pull off an operation of this size. But this staff goes beyond that by genuinely striving to maintain the camp's original purpose - that there would be a place for Christians to seek refuge and relationship. History runs deep here - from the astonishing story of their founder, Henrietta Mears, to the lives and ministries her work impacted, including those of Bill Bright, Jim Rayburn, and Billy Graham. The love of crazy at this camp is something we really appreciated. The chaotic, weird, messy, and unsure are embraced and sometimes crafted on purpose. Forest Home is absolutely a place where the gospel is constantly being spoken, and staff are devoted to sharing God's word with every guest, volunteer, and employee.
This is one of those times in the Bible when you read what God said and can’t help but think “oh snap.” God LAYS IT OUT. He basically asks Job “who the heck do you think you are?” Properly, “who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge?” (Job 38:2) God makes it clear just how little Job really knows.
BUT JOB IS A GOOD GUY! He’s upright! He’s blameless! WHAT THE HECK?
